Nintendo Direct Confirmed For June 9, 2026

The long-rumored Nintendo Direct has been officially confirmed, with the event set to take place on Tuesday, June 9, at 7 AM PT.

It was suspected that the showcase would take place this week, but for a moment, fans feared it might be postponed due to a last-minute delay to a Nintendo Store update. Alas, those fears have been wavered, as the Direct is locked and loaded for June 9.

What To Expect From Nintendo Direct

The announcement for the Direct took place on the Nintendo Today App, and the showcase is expected to run for roughly 50 minutes. Afterwards, there will be a Nintendo Treehouse: Live aftershow, offering a closer look at gameplay for featured titles.

We haven’t had a complete Nintendo Direct since September 2025, so to say fan anticipation is high would be an understatement! Since then, Nintendo has hosted a variety of smaller, indie and third-party-centric shows, but now seems to be the time for a first-party event.

It’s all well and good knowing a Direct is due, but now it begs the question, what games are going to appear? It seems like a safe bet that Star Fox will get another trailer ahead of its imminent June 25 release date. Another likely game to appear could be the heavily-rumored Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, with an official announcement certainly on the cards.

Splatoon Raiders and Fire Emblem Shadows are also probably due for a new trailer, with both titles releasing in the coming months. Aside from those, though, it remains quite a mystery, and Nintendo could easily have a few surprises in store for us: only time will tell!
