Nikita Buyanov’s new and ambitious hardcore sci-fi shooter, Fragmentary Order, has just received a 14-minute in-engine gameplay reveal that perfectly represents everything this game is trying to be. The first-person sci-fi shooter is Buyanov’s next conquest, and it comes after ten years of working on Escape from Tarkov, which continues to evolve.
Fragmentary Order will have a paid testing program that will allow prospective fans to access the game ahead of public phases, for a cost. It’ll be a minimum of $44.99 to get involved with Fragmentary Order, with a Founder’s Edition costing $79.99.
Fragmentary Order’s Gameplay Reveal is Jaw-Dropping
Fragmentary Order, which is being pieced together by Buyanov’s new studio, Rant Gaming, looks gorgeous in the 14-minute reveal trailer that dropped on November 4th. It’s being assembled in Unreal Engine, and while there are some similarities between it and Escape from Tarkov, it’s a world away from Buyanov’s prolific extraction shooter.
In Fragmentary Order, players explore other worlds in 2251, embarking on a journey across war-torn Mars and beyond, assuming control of remote-controlled clones that are considered expendable assets in a conflicted universe.
Here’s the full gameplay reveal:
Earlier this year, I sat down with Nikita Buyanov to learn extensively about Fragmentary Order, and I had the opportunity to reveal exclusive first-look images of the game. I also learned some juicy tidbits about the title that I still can’t reveal.
Per a press release talking about Fragmentary Order:
Set across the Solar System in 2251, Fragmentary Order takes a grounded, hard sci-fi approach to the tactical shooter genre. Players operate remotely controlled clones in a future where war is outsourced. There is no wall-hack magic; electromagnetic sensors expose your own signature, death is merely a business expense, and every engagement requires careful squad-based planning.
Fragmentary Order will be subjected to the ‘Prime Batch’ program, a special scheme designed to introduce dedicated players to the platform ahead of all others. This will cost $44.99 for the basic package and $79.99 for the Founder’s package.
Like Escape from Tarkov, the higher tier comes with much more tangible content and exclusive bonuses, including a special designation in the game, a beta launch item package, experimental testing sessions, roadmap visibility, and a closed dev channel.
Nikita plans to go big on Fragmentary Order. Rant Gaming currently has a staff of 150 developers, but there are plans to push that to 500 developers, and the team wants to keep ‘Frago’ running for as long as Tarkov has been around – a decade.
