ARC Raiders’ First New Trader Since Launch is Coming Next Week

Embark Studios has announced some drastic changes coming to the ARC Raiders operating model, specifically around how regularly updates will be deployed across the ecosystem. Unfortunately, the cadence is being slowed massively, reducing major updates to just twice a year, much to the chagrin of the game’s most avid players.

On a more positive note, the team also revealed that the game’s first new trader is entering the game next week, bringing with him some fresh mechanics to help the endgame lull. This is something that needed to be addressed, so it’s good to see Embark doing something about the rut that late-game players find themselves in.

New ARC Raiders Trader Changes The Endgame

The new ARC Raiders trader, who is unnamed at the moment but suspected to be Bilguun, enters the game from a nomadic tribe of surface-dwelling folk, which is interesting in itself. That suggests that there are more people on the surface than we first thought, and that Speranza isn’t the last bastion of humanity.

Next week, this mysterious new trader arrives in ARC Raiders, and he’s coming specifically to help out late-game players who have progressed to a point of potentially having a packed stash and nothing to do about it.

The unnamed trader will offer unique rewards, rare items, and cosmetics in exchange for high-value items. Additionally, he’ll offer sporadic quests that require players to venture into the wasteland, bringing back specific items to exchange for exclusive rewards.

To unlock the new ARC Raiders trader, you’ll need to be at least level 25, and this is where the whole ‘endgame’ concept comes into play.

This trader will allow players to unlock two key benefits:

  • Extra stash space to give you more room to store your loot
  • An Expedition Vault that permits the ‘carrying over’ of five items when you wipe your account every two months or so

Embark Studios stated that this trader is part of a bid to improve the progression model in ARC Raiders. Later, players will unlock a new skill path system and more ways to flesh out their Raider in this ambitious extraction adventure game.

Of course, the bulk of these changes won’t arrive until the next major update lands in October, which is a sensitive point for die-hard fans.
