There is good news for anyone who subscribes to Nvidia GeForce Now and was hoping to get their hands on Subnautica 2 as quickly as possible. The game will be coming to the platform when it releases in Early Access on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox Game Pass on May 14. The announcement was made by the development team on social media on May 13, just one day before release.
More on Subnautica 2’s Early Access Release
Early Access will be available only to PC and Xbox players, but the game is expected to come to other platforms later. In the past, Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero both came to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4; the initial early access build for the new game has elected to skip Sony platforms for now.
This new game is crafted as a solo experience. However, this time around, you can play online co-op with up to 3 players. The game has already surpassed 5 million wish lists on Steam, and the developers at Unknown Worlds are excited for players to dive into the Early Access experience.
“Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien world. It is the next chapter in the Subnautica universe, developed by Unknown Worlds. Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow Pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. The ship’s AI insists that your mission should continue. Stranded and faced with near-insurmountable odds, you must do everything in your power to survive. The future of humanity on this world is in your hands,” the game’s synopsis states.
