NASCAR 25 wants AI drivers to race as close to their real-life counterparts as possible. That’s why all drivers in NASCAR 25 will feature Racing Insights as part of the game for its driver ratings.
Speaking to Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw for the latest episode of the Developer Spotlight, NASCAR 25 producer Matt Lewis revealed that Racing Insights will be used to determine racer ratings.
“Our driver ratings will be based on real world racing insights data,” he said.
Lewis added that the Racing Insights data will help determine how good a specific driver performs at a specific track. The data, he says, will dictate how good someone like Ryan Blaney is at a track like Charlotte or how William Byron races at Martinsville.
“You’ll see Kyle Larson running the high line more than others will,” he said. “You’ll see tendencies, you’ll see all of that stuff.”
All the information is being pulled from actual race results and on-track data so how Byron races at a Martinsville will be different than how he drives at Sonoma.
In addition to driver ratings, Lewis detailed some of the multiplayer features that will and won’t be in the first game, how much Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been involved, and more.
