2023 has been an incredible year for gaming. From The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to Starfield to Baldur’s Gate 3 to Spider-Man 2. And while it may go down as one of the best years in gaming history, next year might be just as good based on the most anticipated games for 2024.
With this list, we are talking about first releases for multi-platform titles. If you are looking for console-exclusive games, you can check out the most anticipated PS5 games and Xbox games.
As of now, all of these games are currently scheduled for a release next year.
What Are The Most Anticipated Games Of 2024?
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
A 2.5D sidescrolling platformer, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a reboot, of sorts, for a franchise that has seemingly lost its way. This new title leans on new gameplay mechanics that will allow you the “manipulate the boundaries of time and space”.
The game launches on January 18, giving you something to dive into right at the beginning of the new year.

Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong is a game that is as mystifying as its main character. There’s still so much we don’t know about the game, but based on what we’ve seen, this Souls-like about the Monkey King Sun Wukong is shaping up to be a potential candidate for Game of the Year in 2024.

Star Wars Outlaws
Officially revealed in June 2023, Star Wars Outlaws is billed as the “first-ever open-world Star Wars game”.
Playing as an outlaw named Kay Vass, players will explore planets across a distant galaxy, ranging from unknown planets to known locations. You’ll have a ship to pilot across the galaxy while you go on “high-risk, high-reward missions from the galaxy’s crime syndicates”.
The game is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

EA Sports College Football
I know it’s weird to see a sports game on a list like this. But when it’s the return of a series for the first time in 11 years, it’s worthy of excitement.
EA Sports College Football will feature a full-fledged dynasty mode, modern conferences, college football playoffs, and more. There’s even the possibility of having real players in a college sports game for the first time.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
At this point, it’s hard to tell if there’s anticipation for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, or just a “get it over with” mentality. The game was first slated to release in 2022 before being delayed to 2023. Then, after the game was shown off to negative reactions, it was delayed again to February 2024.
The premise of the game has the Suicide Squad work with Wonder Woman to save members of the Justice League from Brainiac’s brainwashing and save Metropolis. You can play as one of four characters: Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, or King Shark. The game, which will require an always-online connection, allows you to play solo or with up to three other players.
