It’s officially confirmed that Devil Dinosaur will be the first addition to Marvel Rivals Season 8, with Cyclops arriving shortly after in Season 8.5.

Devil Dinosaur roars into Marvel Rivals alongside the beginning of Season 8, which is set to begin on May 15, 2026.
He’ll be free to play for anyone to use, as you won’t need to unlock the character; instead, he’ll be added straight into your roster. That being said, you’ll want to know where to look in the character selector, so which class is Devil Dinosaur?
What Role Is Devil Dinosaur?
Devil Dinosaur is officially a Vanguard, as the giant T-Rex will help shield teammates whilst bringing raw primal power to the roster.
Fans have long been crying out for more Vanguards to be added to the game, and it looks like their prayers might finally be answered, as Devil Dinosaur is ready to stomp onto the scene. In a world where Cyclops is also a tank, it could be a very fruitful season for Vanguard players!
All Devil Dinosaur Abilities, Explained
It seems like Devil Dinosaur will be a perfect space taker, with his abilities lending to a dominant front-line antagonist.
Perhaps his most notable ability, Devil Dinosaur can clamp and hold enemies in his jaw, thus taking them out of the fight momentarily. Partner that with his attacks dealing continuous bleed damage, as well as a mouth-fired laser for ranged foes, and he’s set to be a menace at the center of battle.

His main attacks rely on his colossal size, and he even has a forcefield shield to nullify some of the damage coming his way. As for his Ultimate, Devil Dinosaur will transform into an unstoppable behemoth, as he can charge forward and trample everyone in his way.

Devil Dinosaur Team-Up Abilities, Explained
Devil Dinosaur will have one team-up ability at launch, and it’s with none other than the Punisher.
Named Primal Punishment, Devil Dinosaur is the anchor to the team-up. When prompted by Punisher, Devil Dinosaur can accept, allowing Punisher to ride on his back like a mount!

Once he’s up there, Punisher can only use his normal attacks and scourge grenade, but he will receive reduced damage in return, with any excess being distributed to Devil Dinosaur. Healing is also shared between the two when Punisher is healed.
