LoL Patch 26.17 Preview: Yasuo Buffs and Thresh Nerfs

Riot Games has previewed the upcoming League of Legends (LoL) Patch 26.17 update with a huge list of upcoming nerfs and buffs.

The patch is a large follow-up to Riot’s long-awaited mage bot nerfs in 26.16, following growing frustration from the community.

Lead gameplay designer Matt ‘Phroxzon’ Leung-Harrison says mages bot have dropped in win rate across the board, but not substantially.

However, LoL fans are now upset by some of the proposed buffs and nerfs that are planned for LoL Patch 26.16.

LoL Patch 26.17 All Planned Changes

The changes planned for the next LoL patch are:

  • Champion Buffs
    • Aurelion Sol
    • Cho’Gath
    • Irelia
    • Hecarim
    • LeBlanc
    • Qiyana
    • Trundle
    • Yasuo
    • Yone
  • Champion Nerfs
    • Graves
    • Nasus
    • Nocturne
    • Thresh
    • Vayne
    • Xerath
  • System Buffs
    • Stormrazor
  • System Nerfs
    • Sundered Sky

Riot Phroxzon Gives Context on Planned Item Changes

There are just two item changes revealed for LoL Patch 26.17 so far, nerfs for Sundered Sky and buffs for Stormrazor.

Phroxzon revealed that Sundered Sky is getting another nerf to try and make room for AP junglers:

“Directionally, Sundered Sky and AP Jungle changes have been good, but the magnitude is still off.”

He states that Riot are hoping to see Sundered Sky’s dominance drop at high levels of play and AP junglers to rise more in popularity.

Meanwhile, Riot is also hoping to make Stormrazor a viable item for more champions.

“Outside of Stormrazor Jhin, it doesn’t have a large user base, and we think it could have more power overall to broaden the user pool,” Phroxzon explained.
