LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight‘s launch trailer features more blasts from the past, including the iconic Seal song from the 1995 classic Batman Forever.
The game, slated for release later this month, honors multiple iterations of the bat. Thus far, it’s known that there will be multiple outfits for all characters, with more than 100 different suits to collect. Now, with the game releasing in Early Access in about 2 weeks for those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, the launch trailer shows references to the Dark Knight Christopher Nolan movies and other theatrical Batman releases, including the aforementioned Batman Forever.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Shows Split-Screen Co-Op and More

This trailer is completely dedicated to the interpretations of the movie releases. The build-up to yet another instance of Martha and Thomas Wayne being murdered in Crime Alley was shown. Also, the story of Poison Ivy from the 1997 film Batman and Robin was shown. Speaking of Robin, split-screen co-op gameplay was also shown. All of this as Seal’s song plays over the action.
Jonathan Smith, Head of Development at TT Games, previously discussed the team’s thought process when adapting some of the gameplay from Rocksteady’s legendary Arkham series.
“What we find with all our LEGO games is that the more we can draw upon different aspects of a character, the wider we can make our gameplay, the more appealing it is to us as players, and to younger players and older players.”
