KT Rolster Complete Dream Week with Wins Over Gen.G and T1

KT Rolster defeated an out-of-sorts Gen.G to complete a perfect week in the LCK Regular Season, which saw the roster also defeat Telecomm War rivals, T1.

Gen.G will not attempt to recover their form against FearX on Sunday, after T1 faces a tough test against Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong’s HLE roster on Saturday.

KT Rolster take positive step after departures

KT Rolster were on the lips of every League of Legends fan last year, when their miracle League of Legends Worlds 2025 run saw them reach the Grand Final, eventually falling to T1 in a classic five-game series.

However, expectations were severely tempered for KT Rolster coming into this year, following the departure of their dynamic Bot/Support duo of Seo ‘deokdam’ Dae-gil and Jeong ‘Peter’ Yoon-su to DN SOOPers.

Fans feared for the worst, both for the team and for Gwak ‘Bdd’ Bo-seong specifically, who had spent so long struggling to find a team that could make the most of his talents.

It seemed like the LCK 2025 Player of the Year was doomed to play in an uncompetitive roster again, as KT Rolster suffered a mediocre LCK Cup, finishing 8th-9th, crashing out against his old teammates, deokdam and Peter.

Following that result, Jang ‘Ghost’ Yong-jun has been demoted to the academy, with Lee ‘Effort’ Sang-ho graduating to the main roster.

Whether the young Support will work out in the position remains unclear, but the opening signs show that his pairing with Kim ‘Aiming’ Ha-ram looks more coherent.

Additionally, the young gun is providing some emotional support as well as in-game support, cheering KT Rolster to success in their first week.

KT Rolster takes down Gen.G

Following an initially even Game 1, an audacious walk-up on the Baron stole the momentum away from Gen.G and put KT on the path to victory.

The resulting team fight saw KT roll over Gen.G as they sealed the deal in 25 minutes behind a strong showing from the Mid-Bot-Support triumvirate.

Game 2 saw Gen.G reassert themselves with Park ‘Ruler’ Jae-hyuk and Jeong ‘Chovy’ Ji-hoon putting up undying performances, but Game 3 again saw KT shockingly wrestle back control.

Gen.G seemed to be in a strong position early in the game, with a dominant laning phase. But as the game developed, it was the teamfighting kit of KT that began to dominate.

Effort’s Alister, Mun ‘Cuzz’ U-chan’s Jarvan, Aiming’s Yunara, all combined to win teamfight after teamfight against the relatively stagnant comp that Gen.G had assembled.

Ultimately, Gen.G looked uncoordinated at times, an extremely uncharacteristic quality of the roster which has dominated the LCK for so long.

Between their First Stand elimination at the hands of G2 and the controversy surrounding Ruler’s taxes, the roster seems far more fragile than it looked just a few short weeks ago.

The first week of the LCK Regular Season has given KT Rolsters the most dangerous emotion of all, hope. Can they keep it up?
