Were you lucky enough to score a free copy of Content Warning during its launch promotion? If you were, then you managed to land one of this year’s most interesting multiplayer horror games without paying a single dime. It offers a ton of content, more than a few laughs, and many possibilities moving forward. But is Content Warning coming to PS5 and Xbox?
Is Content Warning Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?
Landfall Games, the publisher behind Content Warning, recently revealed that the indie horror game sold a staggering 2.2 million copies and accumulated over 8.8 million players, meaning a lot of free copies went out on day one. In the same thread, they didn’t outright confirm a console release, but they allude to one.
When asked about Content Warning on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, the studio said, “Never say never,” and left the eyes emoji to those asking about a console release. Again, this isn’t a guarantee. But the publisher and developers seem to want to launch their multiplayer horror game on consoles!

How Many People Can Play Content Warning?
If you’re playing vanilla Content Warning—with zero mods installed—then you can have four people per game session playing and recording the horrors of the Old World. However, many user-made mods are available that increase the player count exponentially.
I’ve played in servers with twenty people, which led to absolute chaos. We were the monsters invading the underground, not the humans trying to survive. But it was also one of the most fun experiences I’ve had in the game.
That said, it’s unlikely that Content Warning mods will make their way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s likely too much of a hassle for an indie studio.
