The playoff bracket has been set for IEM Atlanta 2026 after a dramatic final day of groups that saw NAVI fall to Legacy to set up another contest with Vitality.
The final day of groups also saw Astralis, FUT, Liquid, and FaZe amongst the teams to leave the competition, leaving one side of the bracket wide open in Atlanta.
NAVI and Vitality set for Quarter-Final clash
After Vitality’s upset loss to BetBoom, they once again looked vulnerable against FaZe on Nuke before converting the map in overtime, going on to win the series 2-0 before brushing B8 aside to qualify for the playoffs.
Seemingly not content to let Vitality face the Quarter-Finals without them, NAVI went on to lose 2-1 to Legacy after a strong showing from ex-FURIA IGL Andrei ‘arT’ Piovezan on Inferno, and stand out performances from Bruno ‘latto’ Rebelatto and Eduardo ‘dumau’ Wolkmer on Dust 2, despite a strong series from Ihor ‘w0nderful’ Zhdanov.
Going into the Quarter-Finals, a loss to Vitality would make it four events in a row where NAVI are eliminated by Vitality after Grand Final losses at BLAST Open Rotterdam and BLAST Rivals Fort Worth were bisected by a Quarter-Final loss at IEM Rio 2026. All without a single map win.
BLAST Rivals Fort Worth saw NAVI come closest to winning a map, after an 11-1 CT-side on Nuke was followed by an infamous collapse on their own T-side.
Whether that particular map was a sign that NAVI can put Vitality in danger, or whether it has fully drained NAVI of any mental ability to fight Vitality, will be answered in the Quarter-Final.
With NAVI faltering against Legacy, suffering illness within their camp through Mihai ‘iM’ Ivan and Drin Shaqiri, it doesn’t seem like the moment for NAVI to step up.
The IEM Atlanta 2026 Playoff Bracket
- NAVI vs Vitality
- paiN vs GamerLegion
- BetBoom vs NAVI/Vitality winner
- Legacy vs paiN/GamerLegion winner
The event will culminate in a Best of 5 Grand Final at the Georgia World Congress Center.
A win for paiN against GamerLegion would guarantee Brazilian representation in the Grand Final after paiN’s victories over FaZe and FUT guaranteed them a place in the playoffs. Legacy awaits the winner after victories against M80, Astralis, and NAVI have put the team in red-hot form at Atlanta.
As for BetBoom, their victory over Vitality will give them plenty of confidence for a potential rematch, and that rematch will be Best of 3, potentially helping the Russian roster.
However, Vitality have, of course, shown more dominant form in the playoffs than in the groups of late, remaining strong favourites for the trophy despite the Quarter-Final start.
