While it’s fine to rack up the miles on the pitch in unranked, Rematch’s ranked mode is where the action is at. You can expect higher-level gameplay and more compelling matches. Getting there can be arduous, but it’s worth it, and we’ve got an all-you-need-to-know ranked guide for Rematch.
The early days of the Rematch beta and Early Access are some of the most chaotic. Everyone is trying to figure out the mechanics, goalkeepers are learning not to dive a mile away from the goal, and it’s not long before you start hitting Steven Gerrard-esque screamers top bins.
As you improve, you realise not everyone is cut out for the game. This is why Rematch’s ranked game mode is essential. We have tips to unlock it and what to expect with its ranked divisions.
How to Play Rematch Ranked

You need to play enough games and earn enough player profile experience to hit level 5—enabling you to start matchmaking in ranked.
This sounds easy enough, but reaching level 5 takes an eternity. I would estimate it took me anywhere between 2-3 hours of gameplay to hit level 5. I was lucky enough to achieve MVP in many of these matches, score goals, hit assists, and make plenty of saves, passes, and interceptions, too.
Regardless, don’t expect to be level 5 until several hours into the game. It’s only logical, as Sloclap is preparing you for the next stage of your Rematch career. Think of it like going from the youth team to the reserves to the first team!
How Many Divisions in Rematch Ranked?
Rematch has six different divisions for you to progress through: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Master.
When you start matchmaking in ranked for the first time, you’re asked to complete placement matches. A combination of the match results and your personal performances will affect the final verdict for your starting division.
Even if you win every match, hit 10K points in each, and you’re the MVP, I don’t think you can be put straight into Master or Diamond—but don’t quote me on that, I certainly wasn’t good enough to find out.
Every Rematch Ranked Division
It remains to be seen if there are any hidden divisions or extra ranks at the end for the best players in the world. Plus, Sloclap could always add more later down the line.
