Date Everything is full of Roomers to solve, directing you towards Dateables, and we’re here to tell you exactly where to find the permanent shadow.
The character behind the permanent shadow is one of the most interesting of the 100 Dateables there are to encounter in Date Everything, with a brilliant backstory, interesting lore, and a rather amusing outcome.
Before you get there, though, you need to initiate your first conversation with the Dateable by following our guide.
Where to Find the Permanent Shadow

The Roomer telling you to find the Permanent Shadow in Date Everything suggests looking at all the shadows in the house. However, there’s one in particular you need.
Downstairs, head into the Dining Room and locate the Globe in the corner behind the piano. On closer inspection, notice that the shadow is in the wrong area.
An accurate shadow would appear behind the Globe on the wall, but instead, this shadow is on the floor in front of it—despite the fact that the light in the room is coming from the opposite direction.
Put on your Date-viators and initiate conversation with the Shadow, who reveals itself to be xxXShadowLord420Xxx, ticking another Dateable off in your Date-A-Dex.
Once you speak to him for the first time, the Roomer is complete, and you can now return every day to progress your relationship.
How to Reveal xxXShadowLord420Xxx’s True Form
Like most other Dateables in Date Everything, xxXShadowLord420Xxx has a quest to complete to unlock the Friend and Love relationship status. To do this, its true form must be revealed.
To complete the quest, return to xxXShadowLord420Xxx every day and speak with him. You don’t need to choose specific dialogue options, although some will direct you towards the ending of your choice.
When playing Hangman, guess the answer as Shadow and issue a challenge of your own. Use the options to flirt, when available, to ultimately unlock the Love ending.
For the friend ending, take an interest in this backstory and avoid the flirting options. The details of this character’s lore are interesting, though, spoiler alert, he isn’t quite who he says he is.
Finally, if you want him to hate you, choose options that are as rude as possible, show no interest in his backstory, and mock his lack of powers. Crucially, when he reveals his true name, call him a loser to seal the deal.
