It’s another big day for Battlefield 6 fans, with the release of the REDSEC Battle Royale on the horizon, but there are questions on how to preload and download the mode ahead of launch.
REDSEC in Battlefield 6 kicks off later today (October 28), marking the next step for Battlefield after the successful launch of the title earlier this month, and the mode’s drop coincides with the start of Season 1.
If you’re twiddling your thumbs and are wondering how to download REDSEC ahead of the release, we’ve got a breakdown of all the preload information.
How to Download Battlefield 6 REDSEC Battle Royale

No Preload was available for Battlefield REDSEC Battle Royale, and all players had to wait until the full launch to access the game—though those who purchased Battlefield 6 should have the mode installed as part of the recent update.
Searching ‘REDSEC’ on your storefront should be enough to find the game and trigger the download, though players have been reporting some issues with finding the listing. If nothing is appearing for you, the first step is to relaunch your system, with other fixes then depending on your platform.
PlayStation and PC players who have purchased Battlefield 6 may not have REDSEC automatically installed, and a manual download may need to be triggered. On either platform, view the files for Battlefield 6 and find the REDSEC option, then trigger the download if it is not installed.
If you’re still having issues finding and downloading REDSEC, you may need to wait a while for the stores to refresh, and issues may be occuring due to the demand to jump into the mode.
How to Play Battlefield REDSEC Battle Royale
If you have already installed Battlefield 6, jumping into REDSEC Battle Royale is quick and easy, with the mode being launched from the main menu.
There are three separate modes for REDSEC Battle Royale, with three searches; Gauntlet, Battle Royale, and Battle Royale Duos. You can only search for one of those modes at a time, unlike other Battlefield 6 game modes like Conquest and Breakthrough, where you can queue for both at once.
Due to the popularity of Battlefield 6, however, and how highly anticipated the REDSEC Battle Royale mode is, you may have to wait to get into the main menu screen due to the amount of players logging in at the same time, with a queue system being adopted.

yeah, pretty stupid of them to not have it available in the storefronts yet. Gonna cause a lot of traffic. If only they could have thought about it for 2 minutes and came to the obvious conclusion that almost 100,000 people will be ready to play at the minute of launch. We absolutely should have a pre-load option. But whatever, another dumb move by a stupid game company.
