Warzone continues to evolve all these years later. Call of Duty loves throwing new game modes and LTMs into every playlist mix, and if you’re a big fan of free-to-play Warzone, you should check out the full details on Hot Pursuit.
If you remember back in 2025, we got a great addition with Warzone Casual. There have been so many great modes over the years, from Plunder to the Iron Trials, and Hot Pursuit is looking to join the pantheon of Call of Duty greats.
What is Warzone Hot Pursuit?
Hot Pursuit is a new cops and robbers-style LTM where players need to hunt each other down across Avalon, using vehicles and special gadgets.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t immediately think of Battlefield: Hardline when looking at Hot Pursuit’s details. Nevertheless, whereas other Warzone modes can be cagey and slow, Hot Pursuit is simply full throttle—something attackers and defenders will need to achieve with vehicles in the hot pursuit of victory.

These are the key points you need to know about Hot Pursuit:
- ‘Police’ users need to find and take down ‘Thieves.’
- Vehicles are a key feature of the game mode and are highly encouraged.
- There are faster spawn rates for vehicles.
- ‘Resurgence’ rules are in effect.
Each role comes equipped with special advantages and abilities to aid your team.
Police Team
- If you’re on this side, you need to track Thieves and take them down.
- Vehicles have special abilities:
- Heli bonus: Shows you the direction that Thieves are moving in to narrow down their position.
- Radar pulse: A special UAV that shows you nearby Thieves.
- Wall vision: Wall hacks on enemy vehicles.
Thieves Team
- You should be a thief; you simply need to resist and evade the aggressive pursuit of the Police.
- Vehicles have special abilities:
- Dirt Bike: Get into the hot seat of one of these babies and use an Active Camo (essentially temporary invisibility), and pop smoke to hide your position.
- Loot tracking: As a Thief, you need to track down valuable loot caches, and vehicles will help.
- UTV boost: A speed boost power up to keep you ahead of the Police.
Hot Pursuit Squad Size & Player Count, Explained in Warzone
You can only play Hot Pursuit in Solos or Quads, and the game field size is restricted to 100 players in Avalon.
As with all battle royale game modes, Raven Software could easily tweak the game mode as we go. They might add a Duos mode later on, they might increase or decrease the lobby size, and other possibilities.
