Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in Development, It’s Claimed

A new claim suggests that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in development, presumably by Avalanche Software.

The news comes via Twitter user @MyTimeToShineH, who said, “Sources confirmed that a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is in the works.” Admittingly, the claim is probably one of the safest bets someone can state following Hogwarts Legacy’s outstanding launch, making it one of the best-selling games of 2023 so far.

Within two weeks after its February 10 launch, the game sold more than 12 million copies and generated $850 million in global sales revenue. Last month, it was revealed via the Warner Bros. Senior Global Brand Manager that the game had achieved 256% to plan sell-thru at launch. The game generated over $1 billion in global revenue on current-generation and PC alone by May 2023.

So, yeah, Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. have almost certainly greenlit a Hogwarts Legacy sequel given its success.

Hogwarts Legacy is available on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

  • I would love to see a sequel. I was in a rut for some time, not really able to get into a game for any extended amount of time. Then playing Hogwarts Legacy I was lifted out of that funk I was in. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this game. Despite the many glitches I came across in the game, I didn’t even care. This was by far my favorite game this year and one of the most enjoyable I’ve ever played in my 35 years. So yes bring on a sequel and will have it on release day.

  • I admit I would love a second Hogwarts Legacy game however I feel they need to add a lil more to it. Like possibly romance options, nothing sexual just some dating, and maybe some other endings as well as morality choices that way you can make your character evil or good. I felt Hogwarts Legacy just had false advertising saying you can make your own Legacy but it’s only one story line and one ending basically.

    • They should give the DC licenses to other companies their studios suck I mean they hate DC. NRS skipped Injustice 3 on purpose and 2’s story was nothing to write home about, Arkham Knight had an awful story, now the most recent game was a flop took 9 years to make Gotham Knights and the other one looks like a flop too also took 9 years to make. Give Sony a reasonable deal and they’ll make a better Batman game or Batman Beyond.
