The time has almost arrived for us to drop everything and dive into the expansive world of Grand Theft Auto 6. The launch is going to be massive, with millions around the world already having bought the game weeks ahead of release.
Those who pre-order the game have the added benefit of being able to pre-download the game, too, meaning that come launch day, you won’t need to waste any time downloading all 212 GB of GTA goodness.
If you want to make sure you start preloading GTA 6 as soon as possible, here’s when they go live, including exact start times.
GTA 6 Preload Release Date
Preloads for Grand Theft Auto 6 begin on Tuesday, November 10, giving you nine days to install the game ahead of launch.
Everyone knows that November 19 is the main attraction, with GTA 6 launching on both the PS5 and XBOX Series X|S, but making sure the game is downloaded ahead of time will be a huge weight off your shoulders—when everyone is scrambling to play the game, you don’t want to be left watching a download slowly tick by!
With nine days to download the game, it’s also great news for those of you with less-than-ideal Wi-Fi setups, as 212 GB of game data can take a while even with a solid connection. For a full rundown of expected download times, check out our guide here, or keep reading to find out the exact moment preloads go live in your region.
GTA 6 Preload Exact Start Times
GTA 6 preloads go live at two different times, depending on your platform of choice.
If you’re planning to play on a PS5, it’s easy to understand: GTA 6 preloads go live at midnight local time in your respective time zone. As soon as your clock strikes 12 on November 10, you’re free to get that download underway.
However, on XBOX Series X|S, it’s a little more confusing, with a global release instead, starting at 4 PM PT on November 9. Don’t worry, though, as we’ve adjusted the start times for a host of major time zones across the world, so you can be ready and prepared to start your GTA 6 download as soon as possible.
