Take-Two Interactive has been issuing DMCA takedown notices on yesterday’s leaked GTA 6 gameplay videos, suggesting that at the very least, they are real.
The GTA 6 gameplay leaks surfaced yesterday, with the alleged leaker stating that he leaked the footage primarily because GTA 6 will be a digital-only title.
GTA 6 Gameplay Leaks Are Real
Take-Two Interactive has been spending the last 12 or so, at the time of writing, aggressively taking down the GTA 6 gameplay videos that have leaked online, suggesting that the leaks are real.
However, as those who have seen the gameplay may have realized, the game doesn’t meet the standard you would expect just mere months away from release.
That’s because, according to the video’s metadata, the GTA gameplay videos are from around 2023. So worry not, these are old gameplay videos.

That being said, we are only a week away from finally seeing actual recent gameplay of GTA 6 in the Netflix special, which airs on August 27, 2026.
Insider Gaming also understands that previews of GTA 6 are underway, which will likely coincide with the event. Notice how some outlets and content creators didn’t cover the recent leaks? It’s probably because they don’t want to rub people the wrong way who’ve invited them to get hands-on with Grand Theft Auto 6.
As for what’s next with GTA 6 leaks and the leaker, the leaker claims that he will leak more from other developers and publishers, but it’s unclear whether the leaks are just tied to one event, and whether or not the leaker is bluffing to try and capitalize on the recent events.
Regardless, he will undoubtedly be targeted now by Take-Two Interactive, and likely have to face the consequences.
