Rockstar Games has revealed all the details on pre-orders and the various editions of Grand Theft Auto 6 that will be available, and the lack of early access incentives stand out.
Releasing November 19, GTA 6 is arguably the most eagerly anticipated game of all time, and the wait times for the title have been extended by two release date delays.
While gamers around the world will be desperate to play GTA 6 as soon as they can, Rockstar Games is not offering any early access incentives.
GTA 6 Does Not Offer Early Access
In fresh details published by Rockstar Games regarding pre-order bonuses and editions of GTA 6 that will be available, there is no mention of an early access period as one of the bonuses.
Such incentives have become standard practice in the industry, offering players who splash out on a premium edition a chance to play the game early, ranging from a few days to as many as 10 days.
GTA 6 won’t be following that norm, however, and regardless of whether you purchase the Standard Edition or splash out on the Ultimate Edition, the game will release on the same date for everyone.
It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, however, as Rockstar has not offered such early access incentives for full games in the past, though there have been early access periods for specific content.
Services like GTA+ have routinely offered the first opportunity to grab in-game content like new vehicles and weapons, but this is a far cry from opening the doors early for a full release like GTA 6.
Rockstar doesn’t have any need to offer early access; in truth, as the game will sell like hotcakes regardless, though they certainly could have squeezed a few extra bucks out of players with the offer.
