GTA 6 Has Practically No Loading Screens on PS5

One thing the Grand Theft Auto series has become iconic for, amongst many other things, is the beautiful and artistic loading screens. I’m not sure how much of this we’re getting with GTA 6, as it seems there will be next-to-no loading times.

Technology is constantly evolving, and it’s for the best. If you went back and played GTA 3 on a PS2 right now, you’d likely be mortified by the long waits. Now, with state-of-the-art consoles, GTA 6 might be about to remove loading screens pretty much altogether.

Loading Screens Could be a Thing of the Past in Grand Theft Auto 6

A detailed Sony PlayStation blog about GTA 6 has revealed a lot of things, but one of the most eye-catching details that caused me to raise an eyebrow, The Rock style, was a comment about the game’s loading times.

The blog said:

‘Grand Theft Auto VI also leverages the PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD, enabling you to experience the expansive world of Leonida with near-instant load times.’

An interesting point I noticed here is that it doesn’t mention ‘PS5 Pro’ throughout.

Obviously, you’d think the game will run the best on PS5 Pro, and that’s how you’ll get the most reduced loading time and wait.

However, it doesn’t say this. This means there’s a good chance that if you’re playing GTA 6 on a base edition PS5, you also won’t be hanging around twiddling your thumbs too much.

Quite simply, Sony claims GTA 6 plays ‘Best on PS5.’

Sony PlayStation exclusives have done an amazing job with this. The Spider-Man games and Ghost of Yotei get you into the game almost instantly after booting them up, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s fast travel system being pretty much instantaneous.

Fingers crossed, all PS5 owners will get to experience ‘near-instant’ loading, and it could be the end of the era of GTA loading screens.

Cast your mind back to GTA Trailer 2 to get you excited.
