Fresh details regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 have emerged, including one particular line that could be telling for the future of GTA Online.
Releasing November 19, GTA 6 is set to follow on from the vast success of its predecessor, GTA 5, which has made Rockstar Games millions through the GTA Online mode.
Initially released as a mode accessible through GTA 5, GTA Online has evolved to have its own launcher, and while Rockstar has remained quiet about the online offerings in GTA 6, new details are telling.
GTA 6 a ‘Single-Player Experience’

On the PlayStation website, a series of FAQs covers significant topics about the game, with one of the questions with a response being: Does Grand Theft Auto VI have any multiplayer modes or features?
A single one-sentence reply has sent shockwaves through the community: “Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.”
While this doesn’t mean there won’t be any online offerings with GTA 6, the continued absence of the mode from marketing and the radio silence overall indicate that it could be entirely separate from GTA 6 itself.
In fact, Rockstar has even gone as far as offering single-player exclusive stores for those who purchase the Ultimate Edition of GTA 6, and again did not mention anything about GTA Online.
With several months until the release of GTA 6, however, there’s still plenty of time for Rockstar to life the lid on the future of GTA Online, and the latest update of the mode could be telling.
In July, a new heist is coming to GTA Online for the first time in six years, and there’s plenty of interest on whether that will lead into a narrative taking the game into Vice City and the state of Leonida in GTA 6.
