GameSir, a manufacturer of popular controllers, particularly the G7 Pro line (one of my favorite controllers), has revealed the Sunset Boulevard and Ocean Breeze editions of its flagship peripheral. They’re available to pre-order now and will drop in November, and they’re as close as you can get to a GTA 6 controller without being an official GTA 6 controller.
There’s absolutely nothing linking these GameSir G7 Pro variants to Grand Theft Auto 6, but every inch of the marketing beat and the sheer presentation of them absolutely smacks of Rockstar’s upcoming open-world epic.
GameSir Makes Shrewd Controller Move
GameSir has been making decent controllers for years, and the team has been making headway into the competitive gaming space of late, especially with the affordability and capabilities of the G7 Pro. It’s a fine alternative to controllers like the DualSense Edge and XBOX Elite series, and it’s about half the price of those controllers to boot.
The G7 Pro line has seen a few collaborations over the years, mostly recently, including games like Phantom Blade Zero, Zenless Zone Zero, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and WUCHANG. There are dozens of controllers under GameSir’s umbrella, and the line stretches from mobile controllers to, as I’m saying, esports-grade pads.
But the newest additions, the Sunset Boulevard and Ocean Breeze controllers, might catch your eye more than anything the team has ever created. They’re scheduled to drop in November, which is shrewd timing, and they’re obviously themed to match GTA 6’s color palette and aesthetic, without being officially licensed or partnered products.
They’ve got all the bells and whistles of a top-tier G7 Pro controller, which means they get a charging dock, 1000Hz polling rate, mappable buttons, trigger stops, micro-switch face buttons, motion control, swappable components, and TMR thumbsticks to eliminate stick drift.
All that for £99.99 is pretty insane.
In the box for each controller, you get a themed deck, and even the connectivity dongles, cables, and additional/swappable attachments are all on theme and colored appropriately. It’s one hell of a package, and I’m assuming they’ll arrive right in time for GTA 6.
The thing is, they’re marketed for XBOX, mobile, and PC, so make of that what you will.
