Hardcore Halo fans are understandably pumped for Halo: Campaign Evolved, but unless you’ve been following its progress every step of the way, the game name and contents might be confusing if you’re not in the loop.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a celebration of Halo’s roots, quite simply.
Many of the traits and aspects of modern-day FPS gameplay and ideas you see originated in Halo: Combat Evolved, and Halo Studios is honoring Halo‘s lineage with Campaign Evolved.
Let me explain.
What is Halo: Campaign Evolved?

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, and only the story.
Firstly, if you love Halo 1’s campaign, or you’ve never had a chance to play it because you never played XBOX (like me), then this is your chance to see what Xbox and Halo fans have been lapping up for 25 years.
It follows in the footsteps of 2025’s Gears of War: Reloaded by delivering one of XBOX’s marquee exclusive franchises to PlayStation for the first time.

I’ve already covered all Halo: Campaign Evolved differences compared to the original and Combat Evolved Anniversary remaster in meticulous detail, if you care to check them out.
However, one of the biggest changes—and disappointments—in Halo: Campaign Evolved is the lack of online multiplayer.
How Many Games Are Included in Halo: Campaign Evolved?
Halo: Campaign Evolved only includes one Halo game, and that’s Halo: Combat Evolved, but remade for modern-day hardware, and without multiplayer.
Simply, this is Halo 1’s campaign, with the addition of new prequel missions, other upgrades, and new content.
But there are no other Halo games included in this purchase: No Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo Reach, etc, it’s just the one game.

One of the reasons for this is likely because Halo 2 and 3 Remakes are reportedly in development, which supports the intriguing claim that Halo Studios plans to remake the original trilogy.
If Halo: Campaign Evolved does well, we could see a string of Halo remakes following—and maybe one of them will include multiplayer, maybe Halo 3?
