GSC Game World has announced the imminent arrival of free STALKER 2 content, in the form of a named update. It’s coming in celebration of the game’s first major story expansion, Cost of Hope, which was revealed recently by the team at the Xbox Developer Direct showcase.
The free content drop, dubbed Sealed Truth, will allow users to access X-18 Lab, uncovering secrets within and unlocking a preface to the full Cost of Hope expansion, dropping later this year.
STALKER 2 Sealed Truth Coming Soon
STALKER 2‘s team at GSC Game World didn’t give a date for Sealed Truth, but they did stress that the free content update will be released in April. Fans of the pseudo-apocalyptic survival game have been hugely appreciative of GSC’s insistence on cooking recently, and the free content drop has only fuelled that fire.

For the uninitiated, X-18 Lab is a reworked rendition of Lab X-18 from Shadow of Chornobyl, introduced freshly in 2024’s Heart of Chornobyl. It’s accessible via the game’s main story, and per the lore, it was used to study the effects of aggressive psychic radiation. It’s packed full of mutants and environmental threats, both in Shadow and Heart of Chornobyl.
In Sealed Truth, we’ll get the best look inside X-18 Lab that we’ve had in many years, but that’s all we know about this free content drop.
The team at GSC Game World is hard at work finessing Cost of Hope, which should be with us in just a couple of months.
