Fresh details have emerged regarding the upcoming new season in Fortnite, confirming widespread rumors that the focus will be on gaming legends.
Fortnite is currently in the midst of Chapter 7 Season 3, which introduced collectable Sprites and featured major collabs with John Wick, DC, and Spider-Man, but they’re all set to be blown out of the water by next season’s focus.
Gaming Legends Headline Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4
The focus on gaming legends has been revealed by reliable Fortnite leakers ShiinaBR and HypeX, with the details said to be uncovered through encrypted files discovered in the latest Fortnite update.
While the rumor mill has suggested this will be the focus of the season for a while, the emergence of more concrete links showcases some of the big titles set to feature.
It’s said that the likes of Sonic, the Persona series, Mega Man, Tetris, and Pac-Man will be featured, and it will be interesting to see how some of these franchises are incorporated.
The likes of Megaman and characters from the Persona series could certainly be new skins, but smaller characters, like Pac-Man, would surely take some adjustment, and exactly how Tetris will be featured remains unclear.
By featuring an array of characters from the likes of Sega and Bandai Namco, the door is opened to further major collabs in the future, and there will be plenty of focus on seeing how this will affect the chapter’s finale.
The next Fortnite season, due to begin in mid-August, will be the final full-length season of the chapter, and will be followed by a mini-season, similar to last year’s The Simpsons collab, before culminating in a live event to end the chapter.
