Star Wars Droid Tycoon has taken the Fortnite world by storm, and if you’ve found yourself standing around waiting to secure a Groundmech, you’re not the only one.
There’s a huge array of Droids available to collect in Droid Tycoon, some of which you may be hunting to complete your Droidex, while others are specifically required to increase your Rebirth level and maximise your Credit output in the Fortnite mode.
If you’re looking for ways to cut the wait time for a Groundmech, Insider Gaming has some tips that could prove to be a game-changer.
How to Get a Groundmech in Star Wars Droid Tycoon

Like all the spawns in Droid Tycoon, there is no guaranteed way to secure a Groundmech. However, there are some approaches to boost your chances.
Firstly, make sure to complete your Daily Missions, as these yield high rewards, including rare Droids and Upgrade Chips. This is one of the best ways to secure rarer Droids, rather than biding your time waiting at the Jawa Sandcrawler hoping for them to appear.
Additionally, make sure to always send your Astro Mech Droids on missions using the launch pads. The higher-tier missions take longer to complete, but are well worth it due to the exceptional rewards that are available.

Finally, and perhaps the less obvious method, is to ensure you are in a server where there are players of a high Rebirth level. While not officially confirmed, I’ve found that the higher the average level of the lobby, the more regular the rarer and higher-end spawns from the Sandcrawler are.
For example, it took me and a friend several hours before we first received the Groundmech we required for Rebirth, but now we’re past that level, they’re a fairly regular site. In fact, I’ve had two or three spawn within an hour before, so it’s worth trying to find a lobby with higher levels to see if that yields better results.
Again, this method is not confirmed, but it certainly seems like rarer, higher-end Droids appear more frequently in servers where players have a high Rebirth level, which does make sense as it would be offputting to only see Pit Droids and Gonks spawning repeatedly.
Should You Use a Groundmech in Star Wars Droid Tycoon?
Yes, you should absolutely put a Groundmech to work in Star Wars Droid Tycoon, as it’s likely to be one of the best Droids you have at your disposal.
However, if it comes to a point where you have Droids that yield higher Credits per second, make sure you send the Groundmech to the rest area and don’t sell it.

Groundmechs are required to achieve several Rebirth levels in Droid Tycoon, with Gold and Rainbow tiers required later down the line.
While you may well get higher rarity levels of Groundmechs spawning to tick off those requirements, it’s best to make sure you’re not waiting around and always have one at your disposal, in case it’s needed.
