Star Wars Droid Tycoon is the latest addiction for many players in Fortnite, and the grind to collect Upgrade Chips can be incredibly tedious.
Launched as part of the latest array of Fortnite content thanks to Epic Games‘ close partnership with Disney, Droid Tycoon is beloved by Star Wars and Fortnite fans alike, offering a huge amount of XP to grind through the Battle Pass and addictive gameplay.
If you’re on the hunt for Upgrade Chips and want to know the best way to farm them quickly, Insider Gaming has all the details.
Update 06/05: We’ve added another method for grinding chips after the recent update!
How to Get Upgrade Chips Quickly in Star Wars Droid Tycoon

Farming Upgrade Chips in Star Wars Droid Tycoon takes a lot of patience, but there are ways to maximize your efficiency.
Following an update to the game on May 5, the best approach to grinding Upgrade Chips in Droid Tycoon is to sell Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow Droids.
Once a Droid has been built, the sell function now provides a return of Upgrade Chips, alongside Credits, which can help with the grind. However, the amount you receive depends on the rarity of the Droid.
While selling higher rarity Droids does provide a more immediate return, the best way is to keep an eye on the Jawa Sandcrawler for Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow spawns, and focus on the cheaper, lower-end Droids.
Although they won’t provide huge returns themselves, they can be built and sold relatively quickly, making the grind a much more fluid approach, rather than waiting around for a rarer Droid to finish building.

Alternatively, Daily Missions provide a significant chunk of Upgrade Chips when completed, and another approach is to load into a private lobby and rotate around the outskirts of the map.
Loading into a private session means you won’t have to compete with other players racing around to claim the Chips, and also don’t need to worry about being killed.
Simply choose a direction to travel, and loop around the outskirts of the map collecting all the Upgrade Chips you can find. As these respawn quickly, it’s an endless loop, though it will still take some time.
While you can complete World Missions, like Hostile Takeovers, to earn more Upgrade Chips, they’re not a guaranteed reward, and they can take time to complete. Therefore, it’s best to skip them entirely.
Don’t forget to loop round to on top of the Jawa Sandcrawler, which has three Upgrade Chips to collect, and keep an eye inside the Cantina too.
Can You Multiply Upgrade Chips in Star Wars Droid Tycoon?
No, there is currently no way to multiply Upgrade Chips in Star Wars Droid Tycoon, but additional features are coming.
While each Rebirth level provides boosts to the amount of Credits you earn, Upgrade Chips are not boosted in any similar way. Unfortunately, this means every Chip you collect will only count as one, so you can’t blitz through in that way.

Considering Droid upgrades at the highest rarities can take thousands of Upgrade Chi[ps, there is hope that features will be added to make the endgame grind more user-friendly, but we’ll have to wait to see what that entails.
Hopefully, the grind for Upgrade Chips won’t be as tedious in the near future, but for now, options are limited.
