While Fortnite remains in the midst of Chapter 7, Season 2, a fresh update is arriving on April 30, meaning that the servers for the Epic Games title will be unavailable for a period of time.
Epic Games’ regular schedule of a new Fortnite update every two weeks has become a core part of the game, and following on from the last update on April 16, there’s fresh downtime taking place.
If you’re itching for your Fortnite fix and want to know when the servers will be available again, Insider Gaming has all the details.
When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up?

Fortnite servers are down for several hours for the April 30 update, although the exact time they will return has not been confirmed by Epic Games.
Downtime on April 30 is expected to begin at 4 AM ET, and while the exact length of time the servers will be unavailable before hasn’t been stated publicly, previous experience provides an expected time frame.

Mid-season updates don’t have downtime as long as the seasonal transitions, like the move to a new Chapter. Instead, downtime lasts for around three to four hours on average.
As such, the Fortnite servers should be back up around 7 AM to 8 AM ET on April 30, though this is subject to change, particularly if any issues are discovered, and the best way to keep track of the server status is via social media platforms.
What’s in The Fortnite April 30 Update?
The Fortnite update on April 30 is considerably smaller than the previous two mid-season updates, particularly compared to the last update two weeks ago that debuted a new Fortnite Festival season and moved Save the World to a free-to-play model.
Instead, this update is focused largely on small gameplay changes, with fresh weapons in Battle Royale, a new Blitz Map, and a Reload Loot Pool Update.

As always, the Shop will be refreshed with new items, including the debut of freshly released cosmetic, and it’s a significant turning point, as it marks the first time that skins from the Absolute Doom Battle Pass from 2024.
However, it’s not clear yet what Fortnite’s plans are for returning skins from that Battle Pass once the exclusivity period ends, and they could be saved for a future drop.
