Epic Games has officially announced that the original Fortnite Season 1 map will be making a return on November 3, 2023.
The announcement was made on the official Fortnite Twitter account, which reads, “Sprint (or Mantle, your choice) back to Chapter 1….see you soon 11.3.2023.”
According to previous rumors, the return of the original map is a part of a “time corruption”, which will see a new season map each week, it’s claimed.
For more context, user Wenso said that every week “will have a new season”.
“To explain further: Since “time will be running faster”, every week will have a new season,” they say, “and I’m assuming gameplay elements and map changes from those seasons.
“So like this: Week 1: C1S1, Week 2: C1S2.”
Epic Games is yet to officially announce whether or not this is accurate, but the confirmation of the Season 1 map return adds weight to the rumors.
Fortnite is one of the industry’s most successful games, which has generated approximately $9 billion in revenue as of December 2019. By May 2020, Epic stated the game had over 350 million registered players.
