A fresh influx of content is coming to Fortnite this week, and while the major headline will be the transition into Fortnite OG Season 9, there are also new features coming to the main Battle Royale mode.
After two weeks so far in the Runners season of Chapter 7, Season 3, where players have been frantically collecting and extracting Sprites, a new drop is adding more to the roster, alongside a new stadium POI.
Fortnite Adding New Sprites & Soccer Stadium

Epic Games already teased the addition of new Sprites coming later this week, but Loolo_WRLD on X has shared a full breakdown on each of them and the effects they provide.
The Striker Sprite, with a football aesthetic that coincides with the World Cup taking place in North America, is unlocked by scoring a goal at the new Soccer Pitch POI, meaning it will have a different method to obtain than others.
Additionally, the new Boss Sprite also has a different mechanic for earning it, as it’s dropped by defeating any boss this season, and it seems like neither of those Sprites will be available from standard means, like looting, though you will be able to collect it from enemies that have been eliminated, if they’re carrying it.
Meanwhile, the Fishy Sprite, which includes swim speed and provides a movement speed boost when taking damage, the Aura Sprite, which provides a Shock Rock charge when you deal enough damage, and the Grim Reaper Sprite, which results in anyone who attacks you getting marked, are also being added to the loot pool.
At the time of writing, it remains to be seen what rarities the new Sprites will be, and whether they will be available in other variants like Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy.
With Chapter 7, Season 3 due to continue until mid-August, there’s still plenty of time for more Sprites and variants to be added to the loot pool.
