Bethesda Makes Huge Fallout 76 Change To Please Players

Bethesda Game Studios has addressed the recent Infestations update in Fallout 76 and made further tweaks to the feature to appease players not necessarily enjoying the new content. It has been a good few weeks since Infestations hit the post-apocalyptic MMORPG platform, and while it has proven a welcome addition, all the elements haven’t sat well with everyone.

To address key concerns, Bethesda has cut the difficulty of Infestations and is making it so that, if you don’t want to engage with Infestations at all, you can totally hide the feature from your UI.

Fallout 76 Infestations Changes Alter The Platform

From now on, Infestations have been made easier in Fallout 76, with Bethesda Game Studios slashing the boss HP pool and making fights less sluggish. Many had previously complained about the unrealistic health pools of the toughest bosses in the Infestations space, which always felt insurmountable for newer players.

I mean, it’s endgame content, so it makes sense, but that’s not a conversation many are willing to have. There are plenty of gamers who think all content should be available for all players.

Later this year, further changes will hit the Infestations event circuit:

  • Updated reward pools that include increases in ammo drops, guaranteed legendary items, and a chance for the boss to drop mod boxes
  • The ‘green circle’ on the map will be removed and replaced with a new visual that indicates more accurately where the Infestation is
  • You will be able to switch off notifications and visual overlays linked with Infestations

Of course, even these changes weren’t accepted by the community.

In one comment, a user wrote, ‘So y’all are just going to get rid of every challenge because people on Reddit complain?’ Another said, ‘Why are you guys making it easier? I literally can solo the entire Infestation.’

On the flip side, some defended the changes: ‘I genuinely don’t get how anyone would whine about this change. The health was unacceptable and literally HP-wise on par with Earle.’

Earle is referring to Earle Williams, one of the game’s toughest bosses with a staggering health pool.
