Playground Games had revealed that Fable was releasing toward the end of 2026, but a sudden delay rumor started to get Albion hopefuls slightly worried—but now you can put your fears at rest.
Out of nowhere, everyone heard about the upcoming Fable game possibly being delayed—which would be agony considering the years the community has waited for a new game.
There were even suggestions that this could push the game back to 2027, so as not to compete with GTA 6 and other AAA titles coming at the end of the year.
Fable Launching in Autumn 2026

X user @YooHoodY tagged the official Fable X page with a nice message saying: “Really looking forward to Fable!” Along with the sentiment was a glorious-looking screenshot of the game.
In a nice and surprising turn of events, the page responded on April 13, AFTER the rumors started.
“Excited to welcome you back to Albion in Autumn 2026.”
There was also a sweet heart emoji to go with it.
Jeff Grubb has previously mentioned that Fable could be delayed due to the aforementioned clash with GTA 6 and other games. What this means is that the game could have been internally pushed back by a few weeks, but it won’t be delayed to 2027.
So, unless something changes, Fable will continue on its merry way to a Q3 or Q4 release in 2026 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

No I think it’s delayed or cancelled. Delay seems most likely especially to avoid GTA 6 makes sense but they will wait a while.
