Battlestate Games has pushed out a new Escape from Tarkov update that introduces a sorely needed change, directly related to the new Icebreaker map transition. This is in response to the community crying out about ‘transition campers’ making their lives a living hell on Shoreline.
It’s only a minor update, but it’s a quality-of-life thing that will have a major impact, with Battlestate praising it as the fastest time between people asking for it and them delivering it.
Icebreaker Transition Has Been Moved
In a post on social media, Battlestate Games wrote:
The transit to Icebreaker location has been moved closer to a beginning of pier by blue fence to reduce the number of cases of transit camping.
For the uninitiated, accessing the new Icebreaker map is only possible via a transition, which costs 400,00 rubles and takes place at the pier on Shoreline. In recent days, we’ve seen some taking great pleasure in sitting back from a long sightline and watching for players marching up the pier to the waiting transit point.
Icebreaker was a frustrating update for a few reasons, but this was one of the soul-crushing drawbacks of the new map.
Tarkov’s design manager, Sergei Domontovich, explained it was a ‘world record’ for the shortest time between a promise being made and a change being delivered.
