Battlestate Games has confirmed that Escape from Tarkov will get its first core season in July. This will add a brand-new character category for everyone to explore, alongside the PvP and PvE offerings. In an update on today’s TarkovTV broadcast, it was outlined exactly how seasons will work, with the studio’s Nikita Buyanov stating there are thousands of years of seasons coming.
That’s a joke, but he did stress that one season will naturally follow another. The team shared a couple of screenshots to explain how things will work, including the difficulty modifiers that users will be able to apply from the start of every new season.
Tarkov’s Seasons Draw Closer
In July, the first Escape from Tarkov season, dubbed Kord Breach, will arrive. It’s centered around the Black Division faction, the mysterious unit that was revealed but not expanded on when Tarkov hit 1.0 in November.
This is the first time players will be able to use a seasonal character, which stands alongside their regular characters:

From what we can see in the image, seasons are planned to last at least 74 days.
When a new season arrives, players will be able to pick from a range of positive and negative modifiers, which can alter their experience and give them buffs or nerfs based on how much of a challenge (or easy ride) the player wants.
This was compared to some kind of RPG system by the team.

Also, the first season, Kord Breach, will introduce new clothing lines, themed around the Black Division outfits, which many players have been asking for since they were revealed last year.
