Battlestate Games has published an all-new roadmap for Escape from Tarkov, uncovering everything being added or changed in the stellar extraction shooter over the next few months. It includes an in-game event in July called Blackout, and then a massive 1.1.0 patch that introduces the game’s first season as part of a fresh, exciting system.
The team also revealed what’s coming beyond that monumental update, including a rework to Lighthouse, which has been teased in recent weeks, the touted GPS mechanic, and the deployment of Unity 6.

Tarkov Has Massive Changes Coming
In the recent post from Battlestate Games, it was revealed that the remainder of June will yield ‘regular mini events’, and then in July, an event called Blackout will hit the platform.
Also in July comes the 1.1.0 update, an enormous patch with stacks of content and changes:
- Seasons system and Season 1 launch
- Technical changes focused on game stability and performance
- Reworked task system
- Group shared kill objectives for tasks
- Rebalanced insurance system
- Rebalanced hideout progression
- Improved beginner assistance packs
- Streets of Tarkov optimization
- AI behavior improvements and fixes
- Expanded interactive mechanics on locations
- New weapons and gear
- New PMC customization options
- Observer camera
- Additional anti-cheat measures
If that wasn’t enough, Q3 2026 is set to bring about further amendments to the extraction ecosystem, including another in-game event and a much-needed rework of Lighthouse, arguably the most hated Escape from Tarkov map.
There will also be a skip Prestige requirements function added, but it’ll cost a ‘large in-game fee.’
New players will also be getting the simplified GPS mechanic that helps them navigate the game’s complex maps, and the extraction systems will be getting reworked.
Additionally, the trader system, loot pool, reputation system, and raid reconnect function will all be rebalanced or adjusted in some way.
For the tech-savvy folks out there, Q3 2026 will also bring about Unity 6 and FSR 4.0 for engine, graphical, and performance-based boosts.
