Epic Games Store was successful in its lawsuit against Google and is now coming to the Google Play Store.
Epic Games Store has been battling against Google and Apple for years, and after a prolonged legal battle, the former has finally prevailed. Through the previous verdict, Fortnite was finally able to return to iOS devices in the United States and Europe. Now, the Epic Games Store is coming to the Google Play Store on Android.
Epic Games Store Will Be Available through Android’s Google Play Store
The announcement comes from Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO of Epic Games. Sweeney’s latest post on X (formerly Twitter) confirms that “Epic Games Store for Android will be coming to the Google Play Store”. The post added that it’s already available globally through their website, and Epic Games for PC also has several other stores that players will be able to access.
Slade Bond, the former Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs, has also tweeted on Epic Games Store’s victory. Bond’s post reads, “Chalk another one up for the good guys: the Ninth Circuit upholds the district court’s injunction and remedies in Epic v. Google.”
The exact release date for Epic Games Store on the Android platform has not been announced; however, with the announcement now live, players expect it to arrive soon.
In other news, Epic Games recently brought down another pair of cheaters, one for distributing cheats and the other for conducting DDoS attacks.
