The CEO of Electronic Arts received a bonus of $38.7 million for the 2026 financial year, while other executives also took home significant bonuses, despite recent layoffs.
Electronic Arts recently conducted a third round of layoffs, during which an undisclosed number of employees in non-development roles were let go from the teams based in the USA and Hyderabad, India. Surprisingly, their latest report outlines that several executives received large bonuses because their games met all the established milestones.
EA CEO Receives $38.7 Million After Recent Layoffs
Eurogamer reported on the latest executive bonuses for EA, as detailed in the company’s new 10-K report. The report reveals that CEO Andrew Wilson received a total compensation of $38,694,984, which included stock awards and bonus payments. Other executives also received significant bonuses, including CFO Stuart Canfield, who received $11.3 million; President Laura Miele, who was awarded $13.7 million; Chief People Officer Mala Singh, who earned $8.3 million; and the Chief Legal Officer, who received $8.4 million.

EA has provided an overview of the performance of its franchises. For Battlefield, the company successfully achieved all milestones necessary for a high-quality launch of Battlefield 6, receiving positive critical reviews and maintaining stable services and gameplay. Additionally, interim milestones related to future releases have been met. In the case of EA Sports FC, the company met its retention goals and achieved audience growth targets for FC Mobile in specific regions.
Apex successfully delivered on the project plan and executed strategic steps effectively. Skate provided early access across multiple platforms and exceeded its player goal. EA Sports American Football surpassed its purchase target and partially met a specific milestone. The Sims launched the user-generated content (UGC) creator marketplace and partially achieved a specific milestone.
