id Software revealed during a recent livestream that DOOM: The Dark Ages is getting a free update next month, which features a new single-player ‘Slaughter Mode’.
A few months ago, the latest installment in the DOOM franchise received the Revelations DLC that not only expanded the campaign, but also added new enemies, weapons, and features. It seems the developers had more in store for players, and this time, as a free update, solo players can enjoy it.
DOOM: The Dark Ages Slaughter Mode is an Endless Fight Against Demons
As spotted by IGN, during the latest Slayers Cub Live livestream, DOOM: The Dark Ages director announced that Slaughter Mode is arriving for the game next month as a free update. It has been described as an “endless single-player mode where players fight through escalating demon waves across multiple arenas, earning cosmetics and their personal best in round/score.” It seems like a great mode to play when you just want to jump in and beat the hell out of some demons. No release date was announced.
