Minecraft is introducing the Copper Golem, with new Copper tools, chests, weapons and more through Bedrock Beta. These will arrive as the first features of their third game drop.
Minecraft is going hard in 2025, adding new updates and content each month. Just last month, we received the Vibrant Visuals update and the Happy Ghast Mob. Now, a new update will introduce a new copper mob along with improved ways to utilise Copper as a resource in Minecraft.
Minecraft’s Copper Golem Returns with New Chests

One of Minecraft’s cherished mobs, the Copper Golem, has returned in a new and improved way. The Copper Golem will not only help players sort their inventory, but also make their place a bit livelier. This mob will not spawn in the general world and will have to be summoned by players. To summon the Copper Golem in Minecraft, players will have to place a carved pumpkin on a copper block.
The Copper Golem will also come with a Copper Chest, and you can learn the recipe for this item after picking it up. Copper Chests are special items, as they serve a purpose beyond mere storage containers. Copper Golems can open these chests, move inventory around to other similar chests and even sort items neatly into stacks.
Copper Weapons, Tools and Armour

Minecraft has finally added Copper as an equipment tier, with its durability falling between that of Stone and Iron. This also reflects the type of equipment players can craft from this resource. For example, a copper pickaxe will help mine faster and for longer than a stone pickaxe, but it will not provide additional materials. Copper’s abundance makes it an excellent choice for early-game materials. Interested players can check out the developer diary below to learn how Copper Golem, Copper Chest and Copper Tools came to be.
