Control Resonant’s lead gameplay designer has revealed the game length for the upcoming title.
The next installment of Remedy’s critically acclaimed series is set to be released next month, and much is at stake, as the franchise’s long-term future depends on the success of Resonant. The developers aim to attract the action-RPG audience with this installment and appear to be offering plenty of content for players to immerse themselves in within the new world.
How Long to Beat Control Resonant Revealed
In an interview with Tech Radar, Sergey Mohov, the lead gameplay designer at Control Resonant, revealed the expected game length for their upcoming title, Resonant. He mentioned that players can expect to spend around 30 hours to complete the core experience. For completionists, the playtime is estimated at approximately 50 hours. The gameplay hours will be noticeably higher than their previous title, which took over 11 hours to complete the main story, about 19 hours for the main story with side missions, and nearly 30 hours for a completionist experience.
The lead gameplay designer discussed how various titles influenced Resonant, mentioning that they incorporated “references for the individual parts of the experience.” Mohov expressed his love for Devil May Cry 2 and 3, as well as for Platinum Games, although he acknowledged that it would be challenging to name all the specific references. He assured players, however, that while they might notice similarities to elements in other games, Resonant will not feel exactly like those titles.
Lastly, Sergey Mohov thinks players don’t need to play the first title before playing Resonant, but playing it will improve the experience, “especially narratively”. Additionally, there is also a recap of Control at the top of the main menu if players need it.
