Cody Rhodes discusses a possible second Street Fighter movie and even teases a potential Mortal Kombat crossover after Paramount and Warner Bros. merged to form Skydance.
Cody Rhodes plays Guile in the new movie, a role he says he couldn’t have imagined when he played Street Fighter as a child. The movie has mixed reviews so far, but Rhodes is still hopeful the franchise can do more.
Cody Rhodes Teases Street Fighter–Mortal Kombat Crossover

During an interview with Brandon Davis, Cody Rhodes was asked about the likelihood of a sequel. He said he wants to do it, but more than anything, he hopes moviegoers enjoy the film and open the door to potential sequels.
He also said Street Fighter 2, the video game, was the franchise’s greatest iteration and teased a crossover with Mortal Kombat now that the Skydance merger is complete. WB owned Mortal Kombat, and Paramount Pictures distributed this year’s Street Fighter film.
“Well, I think it’s so funny because if there were one, it would be called ‘Street Fighter 2’. And Street Fighter 2 was the greatest iteration,” he said, adding, “Your boys now, because you’re a big Mortal Kombat [fan], are on the table as well. We’re all in the same family. Yeah, because those are your guys. That movie was wonderful.”
Even without Street Fighter 2, Cody Rhodes says he wants to do more acting despite his primary obligations to WWE. For now, if you want more Street Fighter and WWE crossover, you can check out the new Street Fighter DLC pack for WWE 2K26.
