Cody Rhodes names the WWE Superstars he believes would compete in a real-life World Warrior tournament from Street Fighter. This follows Cody Rhodes starring as Guile in the new Street Fighter film now in theaters.
Cody Rhodes is not the only professional wrestler in the movie. Fellow WWE Superstar and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns also appears as Akuma, and former New Japan Pro-Wrestling IWGP World Champion Hirooki Goto plays E. Honda.
Cody Rhodes Compares Jacob Fatu to Street Fighter’s Blanka
During an interview with Brandon Davis, Cody Rhodes was asked which current WWE Superstars he believes would fare well in a real-life World Warrior tournament. At first, he agreed with Brandon that Dominik Mysterio, son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, would put up a good showing as a sneaky fighter.
Then, Cody touted Jacob Fatu, a relative of Roman Reigns, as a solid Blanka-type force. He also said that Chad Gable, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, would fare well in the tournament as a genuine Olympic-level wrestler.
“You got some parallels with a Blanka and a Jacob Fatu. Just a madness,” he said before adding, “World Warrior Tournament at WWE? Chad Gable. A shooter’s shooter, Chad Gable.”
While such a tournament is very unlikely to ever happen in WWE, you can have fun living the fantasy through a new Street Fighter DLC pack for WWE 2K26 that turns stars like the aforementioned Mysterios into Ryu and Ken and turns The Rock into M. Bison.
