Raw Power Games risks closure before its first game releases. In a statement posted on social media on Friday, the developers of Chronicles: Medieval announced that the studio has lost its funding, impacting the game’s development and its future.
Putting it bluntly, they say they can’t continue working on the open-world RPG without the funding.
Early Access Is Close
Raw Power Games says that Early Access for Chronicles: Medieval is “within reach”. They say that there’s a lot they have been excited to share with players, as the team working on the game has “put everything they have” into it.
“They are the ones carrying the heaviest weight right now, and we couldn’t be prouder of them,” the studio says.
The team continued to thank the players who’ve already wishlisted the game, shared it, and shown a true passion for what the game was becoming. It’s something, they say, that they won’t ever take for granted.
That said, there’s a lot of uncertainty for the studio and what happens with the game.
“We don’t know yet how this ends. But in the spirit of our game we’re not going down without a fight!” they said.
“These days and hours we’re working tirelessly for this studio and this game with everything we’ve got. Real talks are taking place with everyone who might help us find a way forward. We can’t promise you a happy ending. What we can promise is that we will be honest with you the whole way through, whether the news is good or bad, and that you will hear it from us first.”
The statement ends with Raw Power Games asking anyone remotely interested in Chronicles: Medieval to wishlist the game and to talk and post about it.
“It matters more right now than you might think,” they said.
