Could classic Call of Duty games be on their way to Microsoft xCloud, Xbox Game Pass, or both in the near future? A find from a keen-eyed Reddit user could be a clue to future plans.
Reddit user Psychologica-Pool-3 spotted Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 listed in the game’s catalog on xCloud on mobile.
“I noticed it on my phone but when I clicked on it, it just sorta freezes for a sec before going back to the top so I don’t think it’s supposed to be there,” the user said. “I don’t own the game and it’s not on game pass so I was surprised to see it there.”
This year is already shaping up to be a big year for Call of Duty. In addition to Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, Insider Gaming has heard in the past that Xbox has been working on its announcement regarding the back catalog of games. Xbox is set to hold it’s summer showcase event on June 9.
It should be noted that nothing is confirmed about the series at the moment or plans for future games. Neither Microsoft nor Activision Blizzard responded to requests for comment ahead of publishing. Should one come in, this story will be updated accordingly.
