The speculation regarding the 2025 CDL season can finally end – Activision has unveiled the entire thing. In a series of posts on social media, the team revealed what the upcoming season of the Call of Duty League looks like, from the confirmed Majors to the structure of the many Minor events that’ll run throughout the year.
It all begins on December 6 – are you ready?
COD League 2025 Season Announcement
Activision has lifted the lid off everything you need to know about the upcoming Call of Duty League season.
Here’s the schedule for the year ahead:
- Major I: Dec 6 – Jan 26
- Madrid Major (Toronto Ultra): Jan 30 – Feb 2
- Major II: Feb 14 – Mar 16
- Dallas Major (OpTic Texas): Mar 20 – 23
- Major III: Apr 4 – Apr 20
- Ft. Lauderdale Major (Miami Heretics): Apr 24 – 27
- Major IV: May 2 – May 18
- Major IV: Details coming soon
It hasn’t been confirmed, but the expectation is still that 2025’s Call of Duty League Championship will take place in Toronto. The fact that the season starts in Madrid is fantastic – this is the first EU Major to be held since the Call of Duty League era began in 2020.
It was also outlined how Minor tournaments will work. They’ll be mid-season stopping points to split up the competitive play between the regular matches and the Major events. Each Minor will have a $20,000 one-shot prize, plus the winning team will get 30 CDL points (second place 20, third place 10).
They’ll unravel across a three-day window with a single-elimination bracket, and seeding will be based on the CDL standings leading up to the event.
Are you excited to see the new season kick-off? The first match will be LAG vs. Minnesota Rokkor, but following that fans of the tournament will see OpTic Texas, the reigning world champions, take to the (virtual) stage.
