During Summer Game Fest’s live broadcast, 24 Entertainment Lin’an and NetEase revealed an incredible story trailer for Blood Message, the upcoming single-player cinematic action-adventure title based on real Chinese history. In this trailer, it becomes easy to see why some have dubbed Blood Message ‘Crimson Desert meets Black Myth’.
Blood Message is NetEase’s first AAA single-player title, and it looks as though the firm is trying to smash it out of the park on the first swing, as the gameplay trailer unveiled incredible combat mechanics, sumptuous visuals, and an immersive, engaging story.
Blood Message Trailer Stuns at SGF
As 24 Entertainment Lin’an has explained, Blood Message explores the unsung heroes of history, rather than the bold, ambitious tales of generals and masterful warriors. In Blood Message, players assume control of a nameless messenger forced onto a perilous path with his son, fighting across a war-torn landscape to deliver an important message.
Along the way, they’ll contend with warring factions, a one-thousand-mile journey, and impossible odds, with the world pushing back against their every move.
Here’s the new Blood Message trailer:
Blood Message offers a visceral fusion of stealth, survival, and all-out action, keeping the player guessing at a pace that ebbs and flows. It’s an emotional title that features gorgeous, expansive landscapes, and the narrative unfolds in a mostly linear fashion.
This will be 24 Entertainment Lin’an’s debut title, and, as explained, NetEase’s first foray into the single-player market, after seeing years of success with multiplayer-focused games. It’s a far cry from the likes of Once Human, Naraka: Bladepoint, and Where Winds Meet, that’s for sure.
