Activision Claims 97% of Black Ops 7 Cheaters Were ‘Stopped Within 30 Minutes’

Activision’s teams have posted an update regarding the state of play in the Black Ops 7 beta, which has a couple more days left in the tank. In a post addressing Team RICOCHET’s efforts, it was claimed that 97% of cheaters detected on the platform were ‘stopped within 30 minutes’, with fewer than 1% of cheaters making it into a match.

The team wasted no time in boasting a success story in the recent social media post, stressing that cheat resellers ‘are acknowledging they have no reliable products to offer for Black Ops 7.’

Could Black Ops 7 Release Without a Cheater Issue?

Call of Duty has been hampered by rampant cheating for the longest time. It’s the biggest blocker to the success of the game’s multiplayer platform, and modes like Ranked Play are a minefield for gamers worldwide because of it.

Team RICOCHET was set up years ago to deal with cheaters in Call of Duty’s multiplayer and battle royale platforms, and by all accounts, it has been making considerable waves.

In a recent post on social media, it was stated that 97% of all detected cheaters were halted within 30 minutes of surfacing, and that fewer than 1% of cheaters managed to successfully get into a game.

The team stressed that the automated and intelligent functions that bring down cheaters still require supplementation in the form of player reports:

While RICOCHET Anti-Cheat’s automated detections stop most cheaters before you see them, your reports still play a vital role. They help fuel our detection models, refine enforcement and improve coverage.

It was noted again that PC players cannot access Black Ops 7 if they don’t have Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 enabled, which is becoming the new de facto standard for multiplayer-focused games on PC platforms.

The team parted ways with players with the following quote:

The fight against cheating is an industry-wide challenge – and we’re committed to leading the charge. We continue to bring new systems online during Beta, fine-tuning our protections, responding faster and gaining deeper insights.

We’re dedicated to transparency, community feedback, and constant evolution in our fight for fair play.

Do you think the issue with cheaters in Black Ops 7 has been nullified by Team RICOCHET? Let me know if you’ve been killed by a cheater on the Insider Gaming Discord server.

  • “detected cheaters” is a funny statistic that makes it seem like they they are doing better than they are. Catching a bunch of script kiddies, which is like almost everything detected, doesn’t even require this level on anti-cheat. Most actual cheaters are using multi-machine serups that no anti-cheat can detect.

There’s also the “legal” aimbotters on console.
