PREDICTION: Battlefield 6 To Sell 5 Million Copies in First Week

Battlefield 6 is almost in the hands of gamers worldwide. From next Friday, October 10, users will be pouring into Battlefield 6 after many years of waiting for such a game to materialize. From the early trailers, beta tests, and Battlefield Labs sessions, we’ve learned that this could be a resurgence of sorts for EA’s troubled first-person shooter.

Some predictions suggest that rampant sales figures will run wild across the launch weekend for Battlefield 6. The most recent figures estimate that a whopping five million copies will be sold in the first week, but some believe that’s a conservative prediction and that the real figure should be much higher.

Battlefield 6 Could Sell Millions in the First Weekend

In recent coverage from The Game Business, a report aired regarding the Electronic Arts sale and the impending launch of Battlefield 6. The report included figures from top analyst firms, such as Newzoo and Ampere Analytics.

It was estimated that, on Steam alone, Battlefield 6 has pulled in more than 1.7 million pre-orders, and that the Battlefield 6 beta’s player count peaked at a collective 10.4 million users, decimating the figures secured by 2021’s Battlefield 2042.

Ampere also noted some clear behavioral tendencies, pointing out that, on Steam, 48% of Call of Duty players didn’t return to COD after playing the Battlefield 6 beta. By contrast, 24% of PlayStation gamers didn’t return to Call of Duty after experiencing Battlefield 6.

The most telling predictions come in the estimated sales figures. Ampere has predicted that Battlefield 6 will sell five million units within one week. Others feel that’s a lowball figure and the game will more likely push towards the double-figure mark, given the overwhelming success of the beta, strong viewership numbers, and social hype surrounding the game.

It has been many years since players have gotten a ‘great’ Battlefield game, and by all accounts, Battlefield 6 is a strong return to form.

  • It’ll be very interesting how CoD reacts. CoD has launched great games year and year….it’s just the same game every year.
