Battlefield 6 Developers Address Cheating on Consoles and Cronus Zen

Battlefield 6 developers were recently asked about how they were going to tackle cheating on consoles.

Similar to other FPS multiplayer titles, Battlefield 6 has also been plagued by cheating, as many players have witnessed during the open beta weekends. The cheating issue is so prevalent on PC that many players were looking for a console-only crossplay mode. However, it appears that cheaters have also infiltrated consoles, and here’s how BF6 developers will fight them.

Battlefield 6 Devs Have Partnered With PlayStation and Microsoft to Detect Cheaters on Consoles

During a new interview with PushSquare, Technical Director Christian Buhl discussed how they plan to combat console cheaters in Battlefield 6. Buhl first acknowledged how “cheating has become a problem within the console space, especially with Cronus Zen machines and everything.” Which is why they have partnered with PlayStation and Microsoft to detect these cheaters and have their “own level of macro detection and everything” as well.

Buhl added that the developers enabled Secure Boot on PC to help them “combat the never-ending cheater problem.” The developers are aware of console cheating problems and are taking it “very, very seriously.” The technical director concluded, stating that they wish to “preserve as much of the fair play and competitive integrity” as they can to create a “fair competitive space to play Battlefield in.” Hopefully, the macro detection helps counter cheaters early on.

In other news, Battlefield 6 features a bizarre option that can prematurely end Conquest games. Additionally, Phantom Edition skins have been silently changed before launch. What are your thoughts on console cheaters in Battlefield 6? Let us know through the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
